Novak: EU embargo to have no effect on Russian oil production in Dec
SAMARKAND, Dec 2 (PRIME) -- The EU embargo on oil imports from Russia should not lead to serious changes in oil production in December, Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak told reporters on Friday.
“As for December placements and contracts, they were contracted in late October - early November. This is why we do not expect any changes for December, we are implementing the contracts. As for January, there is contracting going on now, and we'll see how it goes,” he said.
There are many uncertainties, but Russian oil is in demand on the world markets, Novak added.
He also called reports that Poland has applied for the supply of 3 million tonnes of Russian oil in 2023 “a theatre of absurdity,” as the Russian government got the information only from media.
